6-Word Short Story

Postby jmb2891 » 11 years ago

So, I was reading an article on Cracked today that had an entry where Ernest Hemingway either bet someone(s) or was bet by someone that he could(n't) write a story with just six words. He promptly wrote on a napkin, "For sale: baby shoes, never worn," and collected his money. I did a little googling and snopes.com has the status of this legend as undetermined, but it has inspired quite a few people regardless.

Here are a few from some recognizable names:

The Cracked article:

Anyway, I thought it's be fun to post a few here. I look forward to reading what we can come up with. :)

Here's mine:
Writer's block. Inspiration found! Bad story.
"Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free."
-Jim Morrison

"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great ones make you feel that you, too, can become great."
-Mark Twain

^Yeah, it is really hard. I thought yours was better than mine, especially since I typed that out right before I went to bed.

Here's another:
Civilization. I time traveled and created

"Weird fan couples. I love them."

Someone on deviantart made a wierd crossover fan couple drawing with Makoto Kino (aka Sailor Jupiter) from Sailor Moon, and Frylock from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Weird and random as it is, I love it because I love both shows.
You're not a joke, you fit right in!
So shake it off, and give a grin. Don't be afraid to stand your ground! Crazy, noisy BIZARRE Town!

"Astro Boy! Mighty, but friendly robot."

I will have to admit that this is difficult. It looks so easy at first, but once you try to think of one, it's quite the opposite!
