Kids WB

Postby tailz » 10 years ago

I like KidsWB and 4kids dubs cause I grew up with them, which many of you older fans wouldn't understand how I feel. I'm supporting 4kids cause they are apart of my childhood, and made my interest into anime shine! Thank you 4kids and KidsWB! Plus, as long as the voice acting is good, then it is fine with me. I actually like it when they edit stuff and make their own music. It is creative and I find it cute.

4kids weaboos are bad news.

As per the request of members of this forum who shall remain anonymous, this post is now open for debate once again.

I did grow up with Kids WB and will say that it was pretty awesome when I was a kid. Whether it was Jackie Chan Adventures, Yu-Gi-Oh, Static Shock, or whatever was on during the late 90's and early 00's, I probably watched it and enjoyed it. Even the programs with the 4Kids dubs.

Nowadays though, I can't watch any programming done by 4Kids. It's one of those things where you enjoyed it as a kid, but to go back and watch it as an adult, you realize it's not as great as you thought it was as a kid.

I say to each his own opinion on this topic. If you like 4Kids, fine. I hold nothing against you. For me though, I can't ever bring myself to watch their dubs ever again.

Same here with Shiyonasan and Pika on 4kids dubbing.

I did loooove KidsWB though, they're programming was incredible. Although on their block they did have shows that were dubbed by 4kids, overall their programming was absolutely golden. I can't speak for all the programming that was on the KidsWB block as there were some that I refused to watch (like Yu Gi Oh, it just didn't interest me at all) but shows like Static Shock, Jackie Chan Adventures and Teen Titans were close to me when I was in middle school.

4kids and KidsWB were not the same though I have run into some people who insisted that they were (not much can be said about 4kids now anyway seeing how it doesn't even exist anymore).

lol, a thread that wasn't even started by me is by me. :p (Sweet! I'm not responsible for the arguments on this thread! )

Oh, I just like 4kids cause it was apart of my childhood. I don't give a raddish cause it butchered and changed the names and music. As long as I can stand the voice acting, I'm cool with it.

@Earthshine: Hate to break it to ya, but KidsWB shut down years ago, hon.

There are no arguments on this thread, and if you are interpreting people discussing what they like and don't like, and having them differ from each other as an argument I really don't know what to say to that.

Calm down, it was a joke. (I should've made it a bit more clearer, but I thought the lol, smiley would've made it clear. )

It was a joke, I didn't mean to offend you or hurt your feelings or anyone else.

I know what your getting at but i stay with the fact that they where only just fine when dealing with stuff that wasn't as violent and even then you gonna have edits like making rice balls cookies and removing Japanese text etc

Not to mention what they did with One Piece 4kids ruined the change of it catching on with Naruto and Bleach in in the U.S not to mention that it could have been more popular than DBZ was and that maye have meant that Anime in the U.S would still have been what it was in the 2000's at least i have heard that theory around.

OP in the U.S has only made a up rise in the last years but it being only on once a week late on Adult swim isn't the same as it could have been had 4kids done it right ... okay i may have gone a bit off topic but this is still a crucial thing in the history of 4kids i was happy though when they went bankrupt :) to a certain extend

No need for the smiley, you are obviously being a bit devilish here and there's no need to hide it.

*Sympathy pat* Don't worry, I feel like destroying the 90's Black Jack dubs sometimes, and I'm glad that us Latins got ahold of the 2004 series. (BJ's English voice was shallow and Not sexy. And Pinoko's English voice was not even close to being cute.)

As you can see, I perfer The original Japanese dubs when it comes to Tezuka anime. :D

Humour is tricky on the Internet, it doesn't always translate well.

I have a suggestion: if you start your sentence with "Hate to break it to ya", or "not trying to be[...]", it's probably a sign that you should reword your post before pressing the "Submit Reply" button. ;)
