It is rather common for people to fondly remember the things of childhood. Thus, people of different generations might argue about which version of a film or TV series was the best. Or anything else, not just stories. I grew up with these original TV series:

ASTROBOY
STAR TREK
THE OUTER LIMITS

ETC., As such, they have a special place in my memories, & though THE OUTER LIMITS is somewhat laughable by modern standards, it scared the hell out of me when I was little. :D

I have never watched KIDSWB, but I recall it was CARTOON NETWORK that ran the short-lived ASTRO BOY series back in '03 or '04. As much as I disliked the dub, when I expected it should be on, there was static shock in its place. Though I might otherwise have watched at least 1 episode of that program, there was no way I ever would, seeing it had displaced AB.

Subsequently if you start a sentence with "you wouldn't understand/you probably think that because you're (insert defining characteristic)" it's also a good idea to take a closer look at how it can be said to not inflame the conversation or mislabel an individual as to how they really feel.

"tailz" wrote:*Sympathy pat* Don't worry, I feel like destroying the 90's Black Jack dubs sometimes, and I'm glad that us Latins got ahold of the 2004 series. (BJ's English voice was shallow and Not sexy. And Pinoko's English voice was not even close to being cute.)

As you can see, I perfer The original Japanese dubs when it comes to Tezuka anime. :D
I still din't think that English version of the BJ OVA's was that bad i watched it all dubbed as long as it is just okay i don't have much a of a problem with it.

I know what you mean about the Outer Limits as you know i am a big fan of those old American shows.
I have seen a few episodes and some have really weird effects unless the Twilight Zone which many times deliberately avoided difficult effects (sometimes off screen) also it started in 1959 so that would also have been a thing.
But it still has become one of my favourite series of all time (watched everyhing in just under 8 months) haven't you not seen at least something of that back in the day jeffbert ?

I also have become a huge Rod Serling fan i'm watching his second series Night Gallery right now.
As for getting back to the Outer limits i might pick it up again next i did really like some of what i saw especially a episode about a man that never exsisted i saw that episode already 3 times i think.

I always was more of a Cartoon Network person growing up, though I did watch Yu-Gi-Oh! a lot. I remember enjoying that show, though I am now interested in seeing the original dub instead.

It was kinda hard for me to watch cartoon network since we hardly had cable, so I watched kids wb and 4kids a lot while growing up.

I only got into kirby right back at ya!, sonic x and mew mew power on 4kids, but I have shown some interest on Dinosaur king, tai chi chasers, and viva pinata back when they were aired on 4kids.

Ah, the good old days... waking up on saturday mornings, watching my favorite cartoon shows on 4kids while eating breakfast.

I totally see where you're coming from, tailz. I grew up with 4kids too, and there are some shows today that I can only watch in the 4kids dub, even though I much prefer the original most of the time.

Like, it sucks that they did the edits they did, but I've long gotten over being mad at them and ranting and raving about them. Maybe it's because I've seen worse dubs (where they were talking directly over the Japanese voices and you could tell), or maybe it's because I just quit watching or I matured or something, but as much as I may disagree with some of their dubbing choices, I still respect them as a major part of my childhood. vwv
It's a magical day!

OMG! Another person who respects 4kids for what they are and apart of their childhood and doesn't care about why they edited the animes and the voice cast. :0! (I thought I was the only one! who didn't! :w00t: ) Though, don't worry, when I was little, at the time, when I watched 4kids, My brothers and I were complaining "Why must you take out Japanese signs 4kids? Are you a racist? " But, soon, I grew out of that and I didn't care anymore. (Maybe it's because some kids wouldn't understand what the language is and may get confused over English?)

Yeah, I like 4kids for what it is and that it's apart of my childhood and mostly brought my interest into anime. It's a shame that most people don't see that. But, OMG, I could hug you right now, except that would be kinda creepy, but I shall love you forever! ;)

(I swear I'm normal! :d oh: ) :D
